The Old Florida Celebration of the Arts is April 2 and 3, 2011.
Mark your calendars, the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts-1st weekend of April, and the Fall Seafood Festival-3rd weekend in October, attract thousands of visitors to the area, yet Cedar Key retains the charm of Old Florida. The Fourth of July brings a large number of coastal residents to Cedar Key for the best small town fireworks show you will ever see. Cedar Key's volunteer firemen stage it with great flair. The Cedar Key Aquaculture Association will start the festivities at 11 a.m. with Clamerica ®, in Cedar Key's newly renovated City Park. Activities include live music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., clam shucking contest, Cultured Clam Cook Off and the "pros" compete for honors in the Cajun Clam Challenge, and PLENTY of Cedar Key's farm raised clams. For those wanting more traditional "4th food", there will be hamburgers, hotdogs, pulled pork and corn on the cob.
