Cedar Key is a group of small islands, no, not in the "Florida Keys", but three miles into the Gulf of Mexico, in the southern Big Bend area of Florida, Florida's Nature Coast. Over 100 island compromise Cedar Key; 13 of which are federally designated wildlife refuges, Cedar Key National Wildlife Refuge.
Our town is reached by bridges and causeways. Driving in on State Road 24, as you cross #4 bridge you will soon realize the draw of Cedar Key; the natural beauty, the native vegetation, the wildlife will help you slow to "island time".
